flydubai adds new Pakistani destination with launch of Peshawar flights
Dubai’s low-cost airline to begin daily flights from May 15
DUBAI’s low-cost airline, flydubai, has announced the launch of daily flights to Peshawar starting 15 May 2025.
The new route will operate from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Bacha Khan International Airport (PEW), also known as Peshawar Airport.
The introduction of this service marks a significant expansion of flydubai’s presence in Pakistan, a key market for the carrier since it began operations to Karachi in 2010. With the addition of Peshawar, flydubai now connects Dubai to seven cities across Pakistan, including Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Quetta, and Sialkot.
Peshawar, situated in northwestern Pakistan, is one of South Asia’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. It is steeped in history and culture, home to attractions like the centuries-old Bala Hisar Fort and the storied Qissa Khwani Bazaar, once a bustling hub for poets and merchants on the Silk Road.
Flight options and fares
flydubai will operate a modern fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft on this route, aligning with its broader network strategy that now covers more than 130 destinations – 97 of which previously lacked direct air links to Dubai.
Return Business Class fares from DXB to PEW start at Dh5,270, while Economy Class Lite fares begin at Dh1,300. For passengers travelling from Peshawar to Dubai, return Business Class fares start from PKR 391,600 and Economy Lite fares from PKR 104,950.
Etihad boosts Pakistan reach
Meanwhile, Etihad Airways is set to strengthen connectivity with Pakistan by introducing a new route between Abu Dhabi and Peshawar. Beginning 29 September 2025, the UAE’s national carrier will operate five weekly flights between Zayed International Airport and Bacha Khan International Airport.
The service is scheduled to become daily from 22 November 2025, further enhancing travel options between the Gulf and South Asia. The flights will be operated using Etihad’s Airbus A320 family aircraft, offering 158 seats—eight in Business Class and 150 in Economy.
The new Peshawar route joins Etihad’s existing services to key Pakistani cities such as Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. In addition to this expansion, Etihad will also increase its flight frequency to Karachi, operating 17 weekly flights from 1 October 2025.
